STATISTICA is the Primary Predictive Analytics Tool According to Rexer Survey
Rexer Analytics has just released the
complete results of the Fourth Annual Rexer Data Mining survey(2010),
the largest survey of data mining professionals in the industry(735 data miners from 60 countries participated).
STATISTICA Data Miner and
STATISTICA Text Miner software received top ratings including
the highest rating as the primary predictive analytics tools,for user satisfaction,and for
"expectation of continued use" of any competing software products.

Blogs About STATISTICA- March Madness: Now with Pie Charts

StatSoft recently added new bloggers. You will find these blogs to be very educational as well as entertaining.
Here is a sneak peak by Amanda Shankel-Knowlton.
A simplified bit of background for those unfamiliar: Each year in March,64 college basketball
teams engage in a tournament.In each round of the tournament,half of the teams are
eliminated until there are four teams (The Final Four).Two games then decide which
two teams end up in the Championship Game,which determines the winner of the tournament.
When the teams are selected to participate in the tournament,
they are assigned to one of four groups and each team is ranked with a "seed" from 1 to 16,
with 1s supposedly being the "best," 2s being the second best, and so on.

A few of my friends and I compete every year in making predictions for which teams will
win each stage of the tournament.Working for an analytics software company, it seems like
I should pick winning teams using some sort of rational, left-brained method
and not just which team mascot (or team coach!) is cuter. So this year,
I made a pie chart using some wonderful data I found at
CBSSports.com.
